Visa - Yes or No?

Zimbabwean citizens or non-EU nationals require a visa to enter Germany.

EU nationals and nationals of a couple of other states are exempted. You can check here whether you need a visa or not.

If you need a visa, the next question is, which visa type you need to apply for. There are two different types of visa:

Schengen visa or national visa?

The visa type depends on the duration of your intended stay.

Are you planning a short-term stay in Germany for a period of up to 90 days – e. g. for a visit, as a tourist or on business – then you will need a Schengen visa.

Or do you intend to stay long-term, e. g. to reunite with your family or to study? For stays of more than 90 days, you need to apply for a national visa.
